When it comes to getting the nutrients our bodies need, it’s amazing to find that plants can provide everything necessary to keep us thriving. A Harvard health post notes, “Plant-based diets offer all the necessary protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals for optimal health, and are often higher in fiber and phytonutrients.” although, “some vegans may need to add a supplement (specifically vitamin B12) to ensure they receive all the nutrients required.”

At Rain, we look to the source of all plant life: the seed. We use our cold-pressing method to extract nature’s goodness in the cleanest most beneficial way possible. Because we understand the human body and what it needs to thrive, we’ve managed to develop products that fill in the gaps in the common diet. After all, nature really does make it simple.

Plant-based diets offer all the necessary protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals for optimal health, and are often higher in fiber and phytonutrients.

What DO our bodies need to function?

Another Harvard health article elaborates, “at least 30 vitamins, minerals, and dietary components that your body needs but cannot manufacture on its own in sufficient amounts.” To make things more simple, we can break down those 30+ into six essential nutrients. The six essential nutrients are water, vitamins, minerals, protein, fats, and carbs. All of these (excluding water) can come solely from plant-based sources.

Vitamins - There are 13 vitamins crucial for a functional body, all of them can be found in fruits and vegetables.

Minerals - there are dozens of different minerals we use, some of the most common being iron, which is an essential component of the circulatory system; and calcium, which plays roles in our muscles and bones. These minerals can be attained through beans, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

Proteins - The building blocks of our muscles, tissue, and bones. Many plant sources, such as beans, nuts, and soy, contain protein.

Carbs - Fruits and veggies, grain, and beans are some of the many plant-based sources of carbs. Turns out, carbs were good for our bodies the whole time.

Fats - Avocados, nuts, and seeds can all provide healthy fats needed to keep the body growing.

Each of our plant-based and seed-powered products provides essential vitamins, minerals, and fats to give your body what it needs in the most convenient, simple way available. Plants are incredible, but the seeds that create them are even more so.
